課程概述 |
This class aims to help graduate students increase their English academic writing and oral presentation competence and confidence and transferable skills. |
課程目標 |
At the end of the course, the students are expected to
1. Explain the role of quantitative and qualitative methods and sciences in describing and assessing a population’s health (D17-3)
2. Display critical self-reflection, cultural humility, and ongoing learning in global health (GH-6)
3. Acquire essential academic writing, presentation, and critique competence that could be applied across contexts |

- Only open to graduate students.
- Maximum enrollment: 16 students.
- Native and non-native English speakers are welcome.
- Students need to have intermediate English writing and speaking skills.
- Students need to submit a sample English paper of at least 3000 words that they have written 10 days before the beginning of the first class, which will be used to gauge the class’s overall level of competence and will be used to build class materials.
- Please bring your laptop/tablet, an audio recording device, and a timer (the latter two functions could be fulfilled by a cellphone). |
